2012 Halloween!

Our winner of the costume contest is the youngest contestant “Baby Pumpkin” who is only 4weeks old. The party started with dishing out on good food brought by everyone. Karaoke was blasting in the background and laughter echoed the hallway. People carried on conversation while baby pumpkin slept on. When time to show off their costumes, everyone walk one by one around and strike a pose for the audience clapping and taking pictures. The organizers then decided that this year winner will be different and in appreciation to our member who just had a baby and the effort of coming (both in complete costume) the award was given to both of them.

The party lasted almost 2am as everyone stayed and enjoyed the get together which happens twice a year. Halloween was celebrated and the next will be in December as gift giving to one another is part of the society’s strong beliefs. See you in our Christmas Party!!

Pinoy Fiesta 2012

Members and Board of Directors walk at East 26 Avenue & Fraser Street on August 12, 2012 in participation to Pinoy Fiesta Vancouver 3rd year event. The banner and beautiful T-shirt of yellow surely attracted attention of photographer like  Grace Cuenca who captured the moment. Inspite of the heat, everyone smile to many expectators along the roadside.

The parade ended at South Memorial Park on E 41st Ave. and Windsor. Entertainments rock the park and people brows the field to check different booth offering Filipino food, merchandise, and local services. Many political parties  gave their support. Local communities call for support and collected money to send for Manila flood victims.

This annual Pinoy Fiesta will be one of the event that UFCCPS will connect with from now on. We are very proud to be Filipino and at the same time we are promoting the Family Child Care field to the public. Thank you to all who participated in this event. See you next year! Mabuhay!

Tis the Season to be Jolly…!

(To view enlarge size, click the thumbnail pictures)

“Tis the season to be jolly Falalalalala” :)

The  month of November went by so quickly. The Board of Directors practiced every weekend for the Fundraising event planned for December. “UFCCPS carolers” sung Christmas songs to families who booked the group. So far the outcome was overwhelming and many excitements. The Society earned few hundred dollars that helped giving free workshops to the members, printing expenses of the quarterly newsletter, events and gatherings expenses. UFCCPS sung carol songs at the George Pearson Center to bring the spirit of joy this season. We are glad that we can do such noble community services. Another way of United Family Child Care Providers Society following the Mission and Vision.
The group is growing strong with dedicated members and directors. Everyone give their precious time to volunteer and share many skills. The society is very lucky to have such wonderful, hardworking, dedicated professionals on board. More power to you all ladies and gentlemen and teens.. :)

Happy Holidays to all and a prosperous new year 2012..!

Halloween!

The winner of our 2011 Halloween best costume contest on October 29th at BeeHive FCC is “the Clown” from Orchids FCC.

Providers dressed up, shared a dish and enjoyed the fun games. All, have to sing their heart desire with the karaoke and few line-dancer showed their moves. This is another successful fundraising event of UFCCPS, we sold tickets then raffled items that Fundraising Committee prepared.

The party ended past midnight and eveyone had a wonderful time. See you next year! Get involve, join and network with us.
Here are some of the characters:  Buzzing around to our Vampire mistress, picking nectar from our Hawaiian flowers, while the Nurse attending to Death by the corner.  :)

Every one strike a pose for flashing cameras, tried to get the judges attention for the best costume contest.

UFCCPS supporting members.

On July 9, 2011 the United Family Child Care Providers Society members attended a kick off BBQ party that introduced a project “Barriers to Bridges” to the community. Two members of the society will be working on this project through-out the year. The Vancouver- Barriers to Bridges promote Family Child Care as a vital option for parents who need child care. This project will be funded by Vancity through Early Child hood Educators of British Columbia (ECEBC).

The ECEBC Leadership Initiative (for more information read on the link)  http://www.ecebc.ca/leadership/index.html has called for proposals and members of our society sent in the application on April 15, 2011 . With all the help and effort of many, the Vancouver-Barriers to Bridges was among the selected one. We are so ever greatful to ALL and will keep promoting our services because we are United for Family Child Care.

Working together, helping each other, creating a network of professionals and supporting everyone is what UFCCPS stands for. We are very proud to have 2 members be part of the leadership initiative and the society will support them along the way. More power ladies…you can do it!

We did it again!

On a windy June 12, 2011 our UFCCPS family got together in celebration of Windsor Castle’s 15th year anniversary neighbourhood block party! They had it all! Big lunch buffet, cake, Tae Kwon Do performance, first nations dance, police/fire department, games, etc.

We contributed with organizing children’s crafts, making father’s day cards and of course a big performance! If you ever came to our meetings you would know that despite of getting down to business, WE LIKE TO HAVE FUN!!!! Not only do we teach children about the roots of responsibilities but we also give them the wings of independence and lead by example! Go ahead, be yourselves and have a blast!

Just like our own little daycares we value, learn and thrive from our member’s diversity backgrounds, knowledge and skills! After numerous practice runs we got to dress up and with the help of our musicians, photographers, cheerleaders and enthusiastic little audience members, we sang “Soy Una Pizza, You can make a Miracle, Lean on Me  and Bahay Kubo”
We feel honoured to participate in such a cultural, welcoming and warm community event with our friends, families and colleagues! Until next year everybody, see you then and have fun with us!
